this month.

This month has been filled with so many fun things! School FINALLY got over with and I got to move with Lane. (: I've been looking for a job for what seems like FOREVER, but I'm hoping someone calls me soon after the new year.

Of course, Christmas was amazing as always. I went home for ten days and spent it with my wonderful family. I adore them. :) I got a lot of presents and I must say, I was very pleased. This Christmas was the best one thus far, because Lane got me a promise ring! <3 I was seriously so excited. 

Finally, tonight is the last night of this year and I'm ready to PAAARTTTY. :D I'm going out tonight with Lane and his brother Lance, his girlfriend, Ali, and her friend, Sherrel. It should be a good time for sure. I can't be more excited for the new year to come. Even though it's still 11 months away, I can't wait for my next birthday haha. I can't wait to be 21!! 2011, here I come.

my biggest regret.

I wish I was the type of person who regrets nothing, but I don't think those people are being 100% true to themselves. There's always SOMETHING that you wish you could take back, and for me, it was the last few years of high school. I honestly regret not doing well in school. I wish I would have had more motivation to do well because I could of got into a better school and done better as well in college.

There are good things that come out of bad situations, though. While I wish I would've done better in high school which would have given me more opportunities to get into a better college, I'm thankful for it not happening because it's lead me to a lot of great things.

I've met a lot of fake people in college, and also learned lessons from people I never thought I would. I've learned to not trust so easily, because sometimes people aren't who they seem to be. People who I thought were my friends, turned out to be the complete opposite. 

I met Lane, who is my everything. I can't wait to marry him one day and start a family (which won't be for a while). He's the love of my life. He is honestly the best thing that's come out of me moving away from home and going to Dixie State. Beautiful things come out of horrible situations. <3

I didn't go to the hypnotist last night. :( But we might tonight! I get to pick Abby up from the airport tonight, which is good cause I miss her! I seriously can't wait for the New Year! Yes!

Hm.. My favorite birthday? That's a hard one. I'd have to say my 16th birthday, though. I shared it with Alyssa, cause we were born on the same day. We've shared a lot of birthdays together. Our 16th birthday all the way until our 19th!

my favorite memory.

Well, I honestly have so many amazing memories. All of my friends and family are amazing! It's hard to choose just one memory.. But my most RECENT favorite memory.. Was LAST NIGHT!

My amazing boyfriend got me a promise ring!! I was so surprised! I cried so hard haha. I had such a good holiday with my family and I miss them so much, but I'm so happy to be back home with Lane and his amazing family. I missed all of them a lot! I just adore my life. :)

Becoming a MOM!

If I don't ever become a Mom my life will not be complete. A family is what I want most in this world. If I could quit school right now and not worry about a job, money, or anything else for that matter, I'd get pregnant right now. But I want my family to have an amazing life and have them be well supported, so I'll have to wait for a little while longer. But this is number one on my list. <3 It's the most rewarding thing I could ever be. Plus, I can't wait to see what my babies will look like. :)

Another dream of mine is to become a second grade teacher. I absolutely ADORE kids and I work well with them. I think being a teacher would be the perfect job for me, besides the horrible pay. But that's something I'm willing to work with. ;)

I would absolutely LOVE to go to Europe! Preferably Spain, France or England. Oh my goodness, that would be the most amazing thing. :) I've never even left the United States, so going somewhere abroad would be so fun! I'd love to experience another culture.

On another note, MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! Today was an amazing day! I woke up at ten this morning to open presents and I was very pleased! My mom got me some WAY cute clothes! She has such good style haha. Around 4:00 we ate dinner and we were joined by my moms boyfriend, Bevan, and his two amazing kids. They are so adorable! We had so much food it was insane. I will definitely upload with pictures later. :D I hope everyone had an amazing day! I can't wait for the new year!

an embarassing moment.

So today is supposed to be an embarrassing moment.. Hm.. I have MANY of those! Lol. My most recent one is probably when Sam, Kaycee and I went into Salt Lake to go Christmas shopping, and I was buying Lane's Christmas present and the guy told me how much it was and I couldn't believe it!! So I just kept saying, "It's this much?! It's this much?!" Like ten times haha and Sam and Kaycee were making fun of me so hard core for that! They were like, DUH Mariah, you don't need to ask him 15 times! Oops! Hahaha. I'm a little blonde sometimes. ;)

Anyway, I can't wait to see Lane and his family again, speaking of him haha. I hope everyone has a very merry Christmas. (: <3

this week..

So a week from today is the 31st. Holy cow how time flies! So, today is Chrismas Eve! Yesss. I'm so excited for Christmas. I love spending the holidays with my family! They're so awesome! Today my mom is making her infamous sauce for her pasta. It's YUMMY! I can't wait!

Yesterday was an amazing day as well, because I FINALLY got to see Bridget after a year! I love her. (: It was so good to see her again.

 I also got to see Jennie and my beautiful niece Calee again! It's always so much fun seeing them! I absolutely love Jennie. She is the best mommy! I love having a niece!

Yesterday was ALSO amazing, because I got to spend time with my old friend Lily who I haven't seen in like, two years! I missed her so much! And her baby Tommy is getting SO big! He's already two.. Seriously, time flies so much! It's crazy. I got to see my other friend Adrienne today as well. (: I missed them both like crazy and I love them to pieces.

I'm being kind of lame, because I don't have a camera to document everything haha so today's post is supposed to be about what's in my purse, so I'm just going to name everything I suppose. I have SO much crap! So here we go.. I have make up, my wallet, earrings, lotion, my keys, some Jiffy Lube discount books, pills for allergies, pens and pencils, my air card for my computer and a ton of other junk that's not even worth mentioning lol.

I really wanted to post because I went to lunch with Jennie and Danzie today and I got to see my Calee bug again! Awh she's getting so big every time I see her. I absolutely adore my niece! I love her so much! :)

what i ate today

This is supposed to be on what I ate today. I'm really horrible on taking pictures.. Cause my food looked way good! But this morning so far I've had part of a waffle, eggs, white toast, hash browns and bacon! Mmm. It was yummy.

I'm still in Wendover, so to occupy my time, my sisters and Dartanyon are playing a game tournament haha. So we're going to be playing Monopoly, Scattergories, Quelf, Curses, Trivial Pursuit and poker and whoever wins, wins I guess. No prizes. But we're pretty bored if you can't tell.

Also, last night I watched Sherlock Holmes for the first time. It was pretty good! 

On the downside, I'm getting sick. :( Fml.

what i wore today/wendover

So, today was amazing. I came out to Wendover with my sisters to visit my daddy and we opened our Christmas presents from him, because we won't be with him on Christmas. So in saying that, I am now $680 richer. (: Ohhh yeah! I absolutely love my life and my amazing family! I also saw my grandma and uncle today as well! I gave him a signed picture of Pete Rose and he absolutely LOVED it.

my beliefs.

This post is going to be about my beliefs! This should be kind of a long post, cause I have a lot of beliefs and a lot of opinions. So, here we go! :)

First of all, I believe in LOVE. And love has no shapes, sizes or GENDER. So, in saying that, I am fully supportive of same sex marriage. I don't care if it's two men or two women. If they love each other, it's no one elses business but theirs! I hate it when people butt themselves into other people's lives. While I do support same sex marriage, I do NOT support people of the same sex (or just people in general) being all over each other in public. Save that for the bedroom.

 

I believe in laughter. :) I think laughing seriously is the best medicine. That's so corny, but it's true. Every time I've been upset about something and I watch a funny movie, or hang out with friends, it always make me feel better cause I ALWAYS laugh! It's my favorite thing in the world to do.

Everyone but my mommy.

I believe in family. <3 My family is my entire world. They're the strength in my veins and the spring in my step. :) Haha. I wouldn't be who I am without them. I appreciate them so much!

Last but not least, I believe in friendship! And I also believe that the word BEST is not to be taken lightly. I absolutely love my best friends. Jennie is one of my best friends in this world and I'm very thankful to have her in my life. :) We always have a ton of fun hanging out and this day happens to be one of my favorite memories.

Also: I just got home! Yay. I missed my family. I miss Lane. :( Boo. Oh well. Only eight days til I get to see him!

K, so my next post is supposed to be a moment of my life. So what I'm going to do is pick a random picture from my photos (mind you, there are 10000000 of them! Haha) and write about it! So here it goes!

 Hahahaha oh my God. Okay, so this was in my friend Heathers room right before her, Becca and myself went clubbing. It was Neon Night at Studio 600. It's kind of a prude club, but it was fun anyway! We were having so much fun taking pictures and dancing around to music. We even made a funny video, so if you're my friend on Facebook you can go look at it lol. But anyway, this night is actually one of my favorite memories. I really miss Heather and Becca. We all grew apart. :( But that's life. Anywho, here's my post! Cause I'm super bored lol. definition of love!

I'm skipping the boyfriend post, because my first love is my boyfriend! And I've already written on him. ;) So, now I'm going to write on my definition of love.

 Honestly, I don't really have a definition. How do you define love? It's different for everyone. Love could be someone who takes care of you day in a day out, no complaints, and genuinely loves you. It could be that puppy love many young people experience, where you just want to be with that person all of the time, and you can't imagine being without them. Love to someone else could be the man who for once doesn't hit her that day. It's all so different. 

The love I feel for my boyfriend is unexplainable. He's my other half. Everything I'm not, he is. He's aggressive, hot headed, witty and just downright amazing. Granted, those don't sound like the best traits in a man, but that's not all he is. He's funny, smart, caring, loving.. And his best trait of all? He loves me. For the retard I am haha. I know I'm not always perfect. Hell, I'm never perfect! But he's sticking by me through good and bad times, and that stands out more than any bad trait he does have. Everyone has bad traits. Anyway, I guess my definition of love is genuinely caring for someone. My boyfriend is amazing and I couldn't ask for a better definition for a first love. It's not the storybook romance and I think that's why I like it so much. We've had problems. But we've stuck together and got through them, like we always will. I love you Lane.

Katelyn Mortensen:) It's as simple as this: she's my best friend. No one can compare to the friendship she gives me. We've been through so much together and it always makes us stronger. She has been my best friend for 11 years and she knows me inside and out!! I know she will always be there for me just as well as she knows I will always be there for her. No matter what we're doing we always have fun and get along. She's the only person that can always tell when something is wrong and she can always make me laugh when I need it. I'm so thankful to have her in my life. She brings out the best and me. If it weren't for her I wouldn't be who I am today. Shes my other half, my little sister, and my best friend. Post number four, my wonderful sisters! They are so amazing. They're so different but at the same time, we're all so alike. Haha I love it! Anyway, to start off..

My sister Sayward is probably the weirdest of our family, but I like her the most. :) She is my best friend. I can tell her anything and I know she won't be judgmental. Like her father, she also has one of the biggest hearts anyone would ever have. She's very quiet when you first meet her, but when you get to know her, you'll be glad you did. She is so hilarious! I love playing Wii with her for six hours a day cause she makes it a blast! I love you Say!

My sister Savannah is 16 and definitely has a mind of her own. She is so beautiful and smart! Like her mother, she has a mind of her own as well. It's hard to control her sometimes, but she's really fun to be around, too! Her and I always can joke around about a lot of different things and she laughs at all my jokes. :) I love her to pieces and I don't know what I would do without her little whiney ass. ;) Love you Vannah!

Third post! Time to write about two of the most influential people in my life; my parents. They are absolutely amazing.

My mom, Jennifer, is the coolest person in the world. Haha, seriously though. She doesn't take shit from anyone and she definitely has a mind of her own. She's very independent and has shown me I can be independent on my own, I don't need to lean on anyone else. She's taken care of my sisters and me since birth, obviously, but she's been a lot of support in my life as well. I completely respect her in every way, and I hope one day to be half the woman she is. I love you mommy! 

My dad, Greg, is the kindest guy you'll ever meet. He has such a big heart and he goes out of his way each and every day to make sure my sisters and I are fully satisfied. He fully supports me in everything I do, and I wouldn't be where I am today without him. :) He has the goofiest personality and can make anyone he knows laugh. I'm so thankful he's my daddy, cause I wouldn't want any other. I love you dad! You are the best (:

On a side note, I went to Rodney Atkins last night and it was so fun! I had an amazing time with my boyfriend and his family. I love them all so much!

So, this is my second post and I'm going to write about my first love! His name is Lane Joseph Kirby and he is my entire world. :)

I honestly didn't think we'd be where we are today when I first met him. He was so not my type. He knocked on my door one night with our other good friend, Rhett, and I honestly was like, "Nope. Not going to happen." Haha, so rude of me, right? Well, my old roommate Adrienne and I ended up going to the clubhouse at our apartments with them, and Lane kept staring at me. I thought there was something wrong with me, but it turns out it's just him. ;) When he likes what he sees, he stares. Good for me, right?! Haha anyway, it pretty much happened from there. I was constantly at his house and I fell for him really fast. I was very thankful because he helped me get over someone I'd been wanting to get over for a very long time. Lane gives me all the love and attention I could ever want, and I fall for him more and more each day. He's the man of my dreams. :) I can't wait to see what else is in store for us, I love you so much Laney! <3
